Vision
As leaders in teacher education, the Minnesota Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE) serves all learners in an ever-changing society through its commitment to high and consistent standards for every teacher.
Mission
MACTE's mission is to bring together schools, colleges and departments of education to provide leadership in the preparation of highly qualified professional educators.
Affiliation
MACTE is an affiliated chapter of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). AACTE and MACTE collaborate to strengthen their advocacy efforts, share experience and expertise, and expand their members’ professional development opportunities. To this end, our Chapter’s relationship with AACTE is a voluntary affiliation that allows us to advance our members’ interests.

MACTE and ServeMinnesota Early Literacy Teacher Development Initiatived
MACTE has collaborated with ServeMinnesota to create a suite of materials to support instruction for teaching methods courses that focus on preparing teacher candidates for early literacy instruction. These materials focus on the development of foundational reading skills, including: phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency. Concepts about the assessment of foundational skills are also included in these materials.
